Dream Recording Device ‘Possible’ Researcher Claims

with one comment

A US researcher  says that he plans to electronically record and interpret dreams with future plans to be able to read neuron sequences in order to “read” minds.  The researchers have developed a way to record higher brain activity by using an electronic visualisation system.

“We would like to read people’s dreams,” says the lead scientist Dr Moran Cerf.

The aim is not to interlope, but to extend our understanding of how and why people dream.

“It would be wonderful to read people’s minds where they cannot communicate, such as people in comas,” said Dr Cerf.

I am undecided whether I approve of this type of science. I think it’s great that brain research is moving forward but money would be better spent on researching conditions that kill people or to find cures of today’s incurable diseases.

  1. I think that the quality of an individual’s dream life could greatly influence their mental and psychological health, which will have an effect on the quality and, potentially, length of life.

I would be first to volunteer as a research subject. 🙂

    Thanks for sharing this.
