Living with narcolepsy: a personal journey

Slow posting…

Last night  read an article on BBC news online:

Lack of sleep ‘linked to early death’

In the article they calculate that people who gets less than the ideal 8 hours sleep at night have a shorter life expectancy of 12%. Well, add another, 12% for all the speedy medication I take then another 12% for all the toxic food I eat and another 12% for being alive….;)

Wikipedia on Narcolepsy also writes that There is little evidence to suggest that narcoleptics tend to have a shorter life span.

I have been trying to build up a theory that narcoleptics have a shorter life span due to all the health warnings: not getting enough sleep, getting too much sleep, getting up in the middle of the night, artificial light exposure etc. Perhaps I am right perhaps I am wrong perhaps just staying alive should have a health warning? I am giving up on this depressing topic time to move on..time to laugh more…

If you have any information that you would like to share with me regarding this topic do post or send me an email on queenofsleep@live.com
